How to start up a makeup collection

Step 1: Find somewhere to store your makeup.

Using a draw to store your makeup is always good as it keeps your makeup very neat and tidy. It is easiest if you have a mirror near by, but if not, either a box or bag would be a better option.

Using a box is a lot more travel friendly, although there is not as much space for your makeup so, as your collection grows you may need to find another place to store it.

Step 2: Collect the basic makeup products.

  • Mascara
  • Bronzer
  • Pencil/liquid Eyeliner
  • Foundation
  • Primer
  • Concealer
  • Lipstick
  • An Eyeshadow palette
  • Highlighter
  • Pressed powder
  • Blusher

Step 3: Collect the brushes needed for those products.

  • Foundation brush
  • Powder brush
  • Eyeshadow bush
  • Blusher brush
  • Highlighter fan brush
  • Sculpting brish
  • Buffing brush
  • Lip brush

Step 4: Test different brands and types of products.

After collecting all the essential products and brushes, it is now time to start testing different brands and makeup products. Eventually, over time your makeup collecting will grow more and more!

Good luck on building your collection! I hope this was helpful. Thanks for reading,

Benefit Cosmetics- Porefessional review:

Benefit cosmetics Porefessional, is a primer made to minimise the appearance of pores and create a smooth base for your foundation.  I have repurchased this product twice and have a full opinion on the product. Here are my experiences with it:
What skin type is this product suitable for?

I have very oily skin and rarely get any dryness, although using this product sometimes brings up a few small dry patches on my nose, where i usually get the most oily. Therefore i would not recommend this product to people with dry skin as it does enhance dry areas, but most people with oily skin would love this product.

Does Porefessional really minimise the appearance of pores?

I can confirm that this primer does in fact minimise the appearance of pores as soon as it is applied. It works like magic, although it is not a permanent effect, meaning, after you take your makeup off your skin remains in the condition that it was in before.

How does it wear throughout the day?

When i first apply the primer, it makes my skin appear matte instantly, although throughout the day i usually begin to get oily, therefore this product does not keep you looking matte, but it still keeps the appearance of your pores looking small.

What is the texture of this product like?

The texture of this product is very smooth and soft, a specially when applied to the skin. It is quite thin and quite a bit of product is needed to cover the whole face.

Is Porefessional worth its price?

The price of the primer is ÂŁ25.00. Although this seems expensive, Benefit cosmetics are a relatively high end brand and sell many products at this price, for example the Hoola bronzer. I would say this product lasts around 2 months and is very successful although it does have its cons. If you have oily skin and big pores this product is definitely worth the cost as for a certain period of time, it keeps you matte and reduces pore appearance.  For people with dry skin, this product is not for you.

  • Minimises pore appearance
  • Makes skin appear matte
  • Doesn’t have a silicone feel
  • It is very light weight
  • Makes skin smooth
  • Perfect for people with oily skin
  • Makes the skin feel very soft

  • Not for all skin types
  • Can cause dryness
  • A lot of product is needed
  • Expensive for the amount of product given in the tube
  • Does not keep you matte throughout the whole day

So theres my overall review on the product Porefessional. I hope this was helpful and you enjoyed reading it,
